Hi Ana,
Can you please make sure sapcar the one you have downloaded is correct version ?
Cheers
sharma
Yes, has the correct version.
I use the next command
CALL QP2SHELL PARM('/QOpenSys/usr/bin/csh' '-c' 'ZINST/SAPCAR/SAPCAR.EXE -xvf ILE.SAR iletools ILE_TOOLS;iletools')
"/ZINT/SAPCAR/" is the directory where the SAPCAR.EXE.
The above command should work well? or I need to make some settings with SAPCAR for use as a library in AS400 Server?.
Please help.
Hi Ana,
Thanks for your response. Do you mind just sending me screenshot of same. I assume there is something wrong where still everything looks good as of now. Hope the name of file is SAPCAR(IN CAPITAL) just want to reconfirm.
Cheers
Sharma
Hi Ana,
Can you copy SAPCAR.exe to a different folder like AA and then copy this file called SAPCAR.exe and rename it to SAPCARNEW.exe and the other SAR after that then run the command from there SAPCARNEW.EXE -xvf < .SAR FILE>
Cheers,
Sharma
Sad to hear it, Is it the same error.
Let me think what could be other cause.
Is solved , i don't know exactly what was the solution ,but thank you so much for your help.
Oh Great news,
That's fine if you have solution that's good. Good work
Cheers,
Sharma
there are 3 kind of sapcar for IBM-i
1. ILE-version
2. Hybrid-version
3. PASE / ifs-only version
maybe this one is the easiest sapcar to use: (see note 1804799)

Hi,
as i know and have heared:
you can use IBM-i/OS as NW application server connected to a SAP-HANA DB,
and
SAP-HANA is annonced for IBM-Power Systems, but with Linux only,

Hi all,
We have already installed SAP Host Agent on AS400. Service is up and running. However XDN listener is not started automatically when SAP host agent is started.
Following the steps described in note "146624 - IBM i: Database Multiconnect for IBM DB2 for i" I´m not able to find any service runnign/listening on port 963:
• Server software XDN (DirectDrive):
Ensure that an XDN Listener job is active as follows:
o NETSTAT *CNN
o Function Key F14
o Function Key F13 (Sort by Local Port)
o Look for an entry in 'Listen' state for port 963 or AS4_HOST_PORT.
(Otherwise see "Server Software XDN" below.)
Could you please let me know how to start XDN manually and/or check what the issue could be?
It's necessary to set any parameter in host_profile file?
Your help is highly appreciated
Regards
Hi,
When SAP Host Agent starts, the XDN listener Server (XDNLISTEN) is started automatically.
SAP Host Agent is started when CALL R3SAP400/SAPINIT is issued or automatically at IPL
when the QUSRWRK sub system is activated.
So, please try to use R3SAP400/SAPINIT command to call it directly as a workaround.
Please also refer to sap note 1257635.

Hi Daniel, thank for your response.
We've referred to sap note 1257635 and as indicated there and like you said "XDN listener" should be started automatically when SAP Host Agent is started. Considering the above mentioned, right after the installation we've looked for XDN but no luck. We tried then restarted the "sap host agent" with the following command "saphostexec -restart" but same result.
- All these tasks were performed under QSECOFR user. No password was assigned to the SAPADM user during the installation. Should we set a password for that user, then log in and restart sap host agent? If so, what command should be used: "saphostexec -restart" or "CALL R3SAP400/SAPINIT"
That is not mentioned in note 1031096.
One thing it worth to mention is that not sapservices file has been created under /usr/sap. Is that ok?
Sorry for the basic questions but I'm not that familiar with the AS400.
Thanks again. Regards
After running "CALL R3SAP400/SAPINIT" XDN listener started.
Thanks a lot for your help.

Dear All
1. SAP installation /post tasks steps SAP on IBM-i (OS/400 / DB2 - V7R1) with Power HA / DR (using IASP)?
2. SAP system mirgation / System copy from Standalone on IBM-i (OS/400 / DB2 - V67R1- ASP) to IBM-i (OS/400 / DB2 - V7R1) with Power HA / DR (using IASP) steps which we need to follow during the system copy?
3. Is it same steps what we are installation of SAP on Windows Failover cluster with MS Sql DB(Windows 2008 R2 & Ms Sql DB 2008)?
Could you share your experiences and knowledge?
Thanks & Regards
Sriram
