Re: Database error -901 at OPC

Hi,

we are not asking for the SAP joblog, but for the OS joblog as Brian already stated ... and we would need the information for the WP in the source system, as the problem arises there ...

Hi Mark,

that sounds like an OS bug ;-(

Obviously, the DSPDBR reports: NONE

But, DSPFD on "MARA+A" reports MARA ... that is totally wrong and I never saw it.

Please open a PMR at IBM, if this is the case ...

Hi Volker,

We got the SAP HOST Agent installed on IBNM I host and started the XDN listener Job, its listing to Port 963.

But still no Luck.

Getting Same Error. I restart our SAP instance and also the hostAgent on the SAP side.

We also asked our IBMi team to restart the SAP Host Agent.

Exact Same Error. And our Network Team setup a traffic monitoring between SAP to IBM and he is saying no traffic is coming from SAP to the IBMi server

Not sure why the traffic is not going.

We have a Direct SAPSQL connection using DBCO and that one is working perfectly.

Any suggestion what next.

Hi Brajendra,

AS4_HOST and AS4_DB_LIBRARY are mandatory parameters. Make sure that the value you specify with AS4_DB_LIBRARY is an existing library on the IBM i system. A library is similar to a database schema. (Above I think I have seen that you have set it ot the name of the connect user, which might not necessarily be right.)

Best regards,

Dorothea

Hi,

the messages you are posting are also taken from the SAP system (syslog, developer trace), they only show the SQL0901 error itself.

In order to see the error that caused the SQL0901, please log on to the IBM i at OS level and use the command Brian posted above, or directly

DSPJOBLOG JOB(188483/SCP54/WP21)

The last three or four messages prior to the SQL0901 will be relevant.

If that job (188483/SCP54/WP21) does not exist anymore, you can get the job in which the error occured from the SAP logs you cited above.

Best regards,

Dorothea

silly mistake or not I can say not know requirement, I was missing a semicolon(;) at the end of my configuration parameters in DBCO

Connection Information - AS4_HOST=DVTEST;AS4_DB_LIBRARY=SAPUSR;

After add the semicolon then tested the connection via SE38-ADBC_TEST_CONNECTION - Select the -Database connection - BWAS400DEV and tested the connection and it successful.

Hi Patrick,

in addition to what Daniel says, please check the JDBC driver version you are using, e.g. using the following command being called from within the driver directory:

     java -cp jt400.jar utilities.AboutToolbox

SAP note 654800 has the details. Like Daniel says, this error hasn't occurred for a long time, so I almost assume that it got newly introduced, likely by PTF or JDBC driver. (It could also be the SAP installation code, but I'd expect to see a different exception.)

It would be interesting to know if an older driver version fixes the problem.

Best regards,

Dorothea

Hello Dorothea,

I'm using following JDBC driver:

IBM Toolbox for Java

Open Source Software, JTOpen 8.3, codebase 5770-SS1 V7R2M0.00 built=20140801@L17

Supports JDBC version 4.0

Toolbox driver version 10.3

Installation of an ABAP Netweaver 7.4 system was working without problem (same SWPM, JDBC, Kernel, ...).

Best Regards

Patrick

Hello Patrick,

8.3 is the newest version from August. Please try JTOpen 8.1, or even JTOpen 7.8 if you are still using IBM i 7.1 or 6.1 as a database server.

In parallel, we'll try to reproduce the problem with 8.3...

Best regards,

Dorothea

Hello Dorothea,

I will now use JTOpen 7.8.

Unfortunately I got the error at the step "Install common system files":

Last error reported by the step Caught ESAPinstException in module call: Command CRTR3SYS SID(XJD) GLOBALHOST(*LOCAL* NUCUC(*YES) failed. Return: 65280;CPD0160: Programm CMDMAINQ in Bibliothek *LIBL nicht gefunden.;CPF0006: Im Befehl ist ein Fehler aufgetreten

Could you help me with this as well?

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

I just confirmed th problem does exists with JTOpen 8.3, and by replacing the jt400.jar file in the /sapmnt/SID/jdbc/tbx folder you can retry and overcome this issue. You can try this if you still haven't get rid of the initial installation and then you delete the new system.

If you need the new install, then I think you might have a problem with the recreate of the kernel library SAPXJDIND. Can you check if it exists and if it is empty?  - WRKJOB SAPXJDIND/*ALL- This is my guess... if so, you might need to completely delete the library -DLTLIB SAPXJDIND- and let the SAPILED deamon job recreate a new one before retrying SAPInst

Restore ABAP side of dual stack

$

Hi

Been 4 years + since I did any work on I-series. After patch of BW 7.01 ABAP side SPS6 to 16  using SPAM I tried to use JSPM to patch Java side.

System didn't allow this after patching JSPM to level 16 so was forced to use SUM. Note 1881524 suggests you can't update java side separately so need to start again. Kernel was updated to 7.20 from 7.01 after patching ABAP side.

Is it sufficient to restore r3sidDATA library and then continue with SUM ?

I'm also currently converting to new user concept per note 1149318 as a pre-req to using SUM.

Advise appreciated.

Regards

Dave

Hi David,

Is it sufficient to restore r3sidDATA library and then continue with SUM ?

As per my understanding it should be good enough to restore R3<SID>DATA library and then start the patching using SUM. Post restore please check whether configtool connects to DB and visual admin works fine.

Hi Dave,

According to note 1149318, you could try to update the ABAP stack to a next available patch level

together with JAVA. And this can avoid the restore. If you just want to keep ABAP at 16, you have

to do the restore.

It is enough to restore R3<SID>DATA library, and please delete all the sql packages after that.

About SUM, please make sure you have switched to new user concept and 720 kernel before start

it.

Daniel

Hi Jana,

I think the steps from Volker is good enough for you.

You can also refer to the following sap notes for study.

1632755 IBM i: Description of command APYSIDKRN

1432807 IBM i: Applying a saved kernel using APYSIDKRN

1636252 Installing a 7.20 kernel in SAP Web AS 7.00/7.01/7.10/7.11

There is a course called ADM 525 SAP NetWeaver on IBM i:Database Administration in

SAP, it would be useful for you if could take part in it.
